Greek honey donuts
1 lemon, juice squeezed
1 heaped tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon of salt
2 cups warm water
3 cups self raising flour, approximately
vegetable/canola/sunflower oil, for frying
Place lemon juice in a bowl, add baking powder, vanilla sugar, salt, water and mix together with a whisk until it is well combined.
Add flour and mix well until batter is ready.
Preheat vegetable oil in saucepan to 175-190 degrees centigrade.
Place small dumplings in oil with spoon.
(Dip tablespoon in water before each dollop of batter is put on. This will prevent batter from sticking to spoon)
Stir until golden brown.
Remove loukoumades and drizzle with honey and sprinkle with cinnamon or/and
caster sugar and cinnamon.
